We replaced a beloved old chair with the Halden and felt a small grief until it arrived. By the second evening it was the only place either of us wanted to read. The leather has the kind of grain that makes you slow down. Worth every penny.
Ten weeks felt like a long lead time on the order page. It is not. The chair arrived in a fitted crate, was placed in the room by two very careful people, and the only paper they handed me was a small card with the name of the maker who built it. That detail alone.
I bought the Halden the year my father died. It was an absurd thing to spend money on at that moment and exactly the right one. Three years on, the leather has darkened to something only a long sit can produce, and the chair has become the place I read his letters.
